CHP's mission is to measurably improve the health of Berkshire County, MA residents. Medical providers... and so much more. Every day, county residents with longstanding health issues come to one of CHP's health centers; many are afraid - that they can't pay for care, that they won't be able to get better - or are in pain. CHP's compassionate and caring health professionals offer their patients high quality health care and in process, a pathway toward health. Each year, CHP makes a difference in more than 15,500 people's lives. Let us make a difference in yours. Kaiser Health News/USA Today studied 2011 data from 1,200 Community Health Centers nationally. CHP patients had some of the best outcomes of all health centers in Massachusetts. 88% of expectant mothers received timely prenatal care in contrast with 68% nationally and 71% had cervical cancer screenings - nationally only 75% did. CHP's patients also showed progress with hypertension - 93% were successfully controlling it compared to just half nationally. CHP providers serve all ages and anyone - regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Find out more. CHP is committed to helping everyone get access to health insurance. Last year, CHP provided more than 56,000 medical or dental services to 13,533 individual patients - serving more than 10% of the county. CHP's patients come from all 32 Berkshire towns. Closely reflecting the county's demographics, most are white and 9% are Hispanic. While the state rate of uninsured is about 2%, 9% of CHP patients have no insurance; 44% are covered by MassHealth; 20% by Medicare; and the remainder - 27% have private insurance.
