Dr. Shahid Shafi always wanted to be a surgeon. He went to medical school at Aga Khan University in Pakistan and completed post-graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Medicine and Den- tistry of New Jersey University of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is involved with quality of care initiatives locally and nationally. Most recently, he has affiliated with the Baylor Institute for Healthcare Research & Improvement, where he focuses on the improvement of surgical care.
