Having grown up in GR, I remember the "old Cygnus" the way it used to be with its dark woods, palm trees, and mauve...lots of mauve.



I was there just recently and was pleasantly surprised to see all the changes. It is a much more hip atmosphere than it used to be, and we really felt quite comfortable dining there. The music was a fun world beat, and the lighting wasn't so bright that I felt like I was in an old folk's home.



The food has changed a lot, too. We had the lettuce cups and the samosas as appetizers, and for dinner: duck with a coconut/macadamia sauce and a lamb tagine. The flavors were great!! We were expecting to find the same old thing you can find anywhere in GR, but found it to be unique; it satisfied our need for something different.



The waiters we had were very knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly instead of pretentious. Imagine that!



We definitely will be going back for more again in the near future!!
