Great group. I was treated very well and could not ask for better service. I have only been to an Urgent Care Facility a very few times in my life and they far exceeded what I expected

This was more of an exercise in determining the quality of this facility because I could have done with or without their services like any other client. I went to this facility because of the close proximity, however, I have had the pleasure of interacting via telephone on a professional level with the prescribers at this facility for over one year. See the irony is that I am also a healthcare professional with doctorates from both schools of medicine and pharmacy (no one knew or would have known). I left my work and went in with excruciating throat pain that the NP knew about very clearly as my chief complaint. It was documented clearly on the check-in form as my reason for visiting.

She performed an extremely brief physical assessment, i.e. auscultation of the chest and rapid, unaided visual sweep of the throat in 34 seconds, seriously. She said it didn't look like strep. This place was EMPTY (albeit 1 patient walked in while I was there and the room was empty when I left) during what should have been peak operating hours. With that regard, not enough time was not the factor because there was also a physician on site as well. Furthermore, she was sitting down when I left. She had a prescription for amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate and 2 day course of prednisone 20 mg waiting for me. All done in less than 2 minutes total.

After it was presented, I reviewed the prescriptions and politely made mentioned about pain control while the therapy starts to work. She asked what I was using and I mentioned benzocaine lozenges (as I had one in my mouth) and that it had modest, at best, control of the pain and that I hadn't eaten all morning for fear of unbearable pain. Several things come to mind. The NP told me, "...I would offer acetaminophen to you, but that won't touch the pain..." Just use the steroids and that should control your pain. I didn't reiterate, but why wasn't at least lidocaine swish or acetaminophen with codeine liquid offered as viable options, amongst others??? The prescriber knew I was going home because she asked me. I didn't make a fuss of it, but here I am with insomnia at 2 am from prednisone writing this review when I get up at 6 am for work.

This conversation is not atypical of what I have heard specifically from patients in their experiences with providers across the country. Prescribers fearful, if not resistant to offer legitimate, standard of care. This is clearly an example of inadequate care. I am very saddened at what other, innocent, every day people, in general, potentially could be experiencing. All this at a time when every dollar counts and people need to work. This is supposed to be a convenience for sick people. I would concur with the other reviewers on the level of care received at this location.
