I was told by the courts to go and get an intake done. At this time I had already been clean for almost a year. I stormed out of there not very pleased at all because I was told I had to do a few groups and weekly sessions with Sarah L. She told me I had a few days to think about my decisions. I called her back a few days later. I was able to do zoom groups while being in the comfort of my home. Sarahs schedule was very flexible which made coming in weekly a bit easier. Shortly before starting at Conifer park In Glens Falls my therapist had taken a position elsewhere after 7 months with her. Sarah was always able to listen even if it wasn't my scheduled time and I just needed someone to vent to or cry to she always made time for me. She said months before my actual discharge that I could be discharged but I asked her if I could stay till I found a new therapist. That day finally came almost 7 months later. My time at Conifer Park was a great experience and I still go into visit. The ladies at the front desk are super amazing and supportive. If you do the right thing everything will go according to plan. BUT if you take back your will and don't follow the law and the rules then you will be miserable and make your time there miserable. They are in this field to help us addicts. We can blame very one else when we have a bad experience but never take accountability for our own actions that make it be a bad experience.

Worst counselor

Conifer park seems really nice. The receptionist are very friendly which is misleading. It really wasn't a great place. I have plenty complaints about the place itself but what I can personally speak best about is the counselor Jennifer Rock. She's an extremely uncaring person. She's bossy and selfish and holds no real passion for helping people. She has no interest in finding out how you feel or what you need help with and everything is on her terms. She also won't go out of her way to help you out. I honestly have the biggest horror story about her but I'm not sure I'll put it because then she will know my identity. I tried to switch counselors when I was there. I was informed that I couldn't do that. Instead what I would have to do was sit down with Jennifer and someone higher up to talk about why I'm having issues with her. Havin to face the person you're making accusation of is not a time when I feel comfortable to really talk. And to really add the cherry to the top, after reporting problems and agreeing to this meeting, it never happened. I really mean it when I say that they do not care about you. They will not go out of their to do anything that might hl you. In my times of greatest need I was shut down and shamed instead of being able to talk about what was going on and how to change it. Which is no form of counseling that I have ever heard of good luck. Oh also. Try push suboxone really hard there. They pretty much forced me to be on it. I didn't want to be addicted to something else and was worried about something happening to y script and getting sick. I was assured they woulbt let that happen. But the rest of my time there I was threatened non stop that if I didn't do this that or the other thing that they were gonna stop my script cold turkey. Like if I was late too much or just didn't do something they wanted me to do. I'm not even talking about drug tests. And then eventually they did my fear. They discharged me out of the blue. Didn't even call to tell me. I showers up for group and they told me my names not on the list and to go home. My suboxone script was stopped abruptly (which I was promised they would wean me off) and I was sick for a long time. Please go to one of the other treatment centers in the area. ESPECIALLY If you get Jennifer as a counselor.
