Community Development and Housing, located in Glendale, Calif., is a department of the city of Glendale. The department s neighborhood program includes areas, such as relocating abandoned shopping carts, compliance of the Glendale municipal code, graffiti removal and the inspection and preservation of rental housing. It also offers outreach programs, such as cigarette litter prevention, junior ambassador program and poster contests. Additionally, it organizes events, including foothill clean up, graffiti paint out, home town photo contests, Maple Park and Mariposa Festival, Pacific Center celebration and summer night on the plaza. It also invites volunteers for a number of programs, such as adopt-a-block, clean sweeps and neighborhood clean up day.
