MY FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP IN GEORGETOWN!

I love The Caring Place! So much variety, clean and healthy atmosphere, very organized, friendly volunteers, and SO helpful to the community! I've never seen a thrift shop that does so much for the community it serves! I bet everyone in Georgetown knows someone who has been lifted in a rough time through assistance from TCP. I personally know of several over the years and one whose life was forever changed. Thank you!

Among my favorite parts of the store is their antique store within a store. I also love their craft department. Okay, and their books, especially their vintage books. My dining room table and chairs came from TCP so I have to include their furniture dept. They really have some of everything.I

The only thing you need to be aware of if coming from a distance is that though their hours say they are open until 4:00, that means they want you out sooner. Some departments (half the store) has an earlier closing time.

Due to the pandemic I've noticed they are only taking donations on Mondays currently, so their turnover isn't quite as fast, but during regular times so much passes through the store that it's like a new store every day! I appreciate the special care they have taken to keep everyone safe and it's amazing to me that they have been able to balance that and still serve the community.

The Caring Place really is a unique place to shop. Check it out!

The Caring Place provides emergency help and 60% of its funding comes from their resale shop. It's a big operation: they have a lot of space and sell furniture, which they'll pickup and help load/unload. They've got their resale shop nicely departmentalized- outdoor stuff, kid's toys, an upscale boutique, an 'antique' shop. Lots of volunteers make this place go. It's the real deal and the prices are good! Love it!

Stay away from this place!!!

Stay away from this place!!! I can overlook it being dirty, very smelly merchandise that they sell because the prices are outrages but the people running this place now are some of the rudest people I have ever met!

They say that 100% of their profit goes to helping people in need. I don't agree to that I have gone there several time asking for help and they have denied me because I didn't have documentation to show my crisis. I couldn't believe it all the businesses and some of the churches donate to them they are becoming worst than the Texas Health and Human Services for Food Stamp you have to bring every documentation like birth certificate, lease, proof of income and so on. If their are here to help the community in need of food why denied them that's what I can't understand. Now if they need help paying a bill or something in that nature than you need to bring the late notice bill.

I just think the community of Georgetown should stop donating everything to the Caring Place and donate to other organization so that they can expand and help more people instead of dealing with rude and nasty people like they have become because they are no longer here to help the community they here to make money. Plus, it will give the community another place to go instead of JUST the Caring Place another cities have more than one place for food and Georgetown only have the Caring Place plus it really doesn't help families in need when the Caring Place makes it so difficult to get food from them.

I also was told that they are given food from the Capital Food Bank to help people in need but they just don't.

PEOPLE OF GEORGETOWN COMMUNITY PLEASE RECONSIDER DONATING EVERYTHING TO THE CARING PLACE AND LET'S GET A SECOND FOOD BANK STARTED SO PEOPLE IN NEED HAVE A SECOND PLACE TO GO TO GET FOOD.

GOD BLESS!!!

The prices on clothes are outrages is cheaper to purchase them brand new at Walmart then to purchase them at the Caring Place even though these items have been donated to help people in need.

The Caring Place is FABULOUS! ! They have a very clean business and in the store it is broken down into departments just like a regular department store.
I do have one negative...the entrance porch. ls messy and has broken down junk. on it. Not reflecting what you find inside the store.
