Total Quality Photo was founded in 2003 by Steve Solomon, a graduate of The New York Institute of Photography. Our mission is to sell high-quality stock photography for use in product advertising, graphics design, calendars, brochures, websites, printing, and display. We also offer custom photography. After graduating from NYIP in 1981, Steve then worked for New York commercial photographer Arnold Katz, learning the craft of large format product photography, shooting books for catalogs, developing 4x5 and 8x10 sheet film, and assisting in a high-volume commercial studio. Enjoying the creative potential of darkroom techniques, Steve first studied black and white photography in the Seventies and Eighties, corresponding with the late Mr. Ansel Adams via black and white postcards. Mr. Adams "exposed" Steve to cold light printing, composition, the Zone System, lens characteristics, and various darkroom techniques. Transitioning from film to digital imaging, Steve finds that his Quality Assurance detail-oriented skill set complements his photographic imaging and Photoshop work, hence "Total Quality Photo
