Founded in 1975, Hickman Elementary School is an educational facility that provides a range of learning opportunities for more than 650 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It offers classes in math, science, physical education, fine arts and writing. The school operates a student council and organizes various extracurricular activities, such as choir and safety patrol. Hickman Elementary School also provides the Ranger Reading program. It maintains a parent-teacher association. The school offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. Hickman Elementary School has received the Honor with Greatest Distinction award. Hickman Elementary School is a part of the Garland Independent School District.
