Coiled Wines - for those who follow their own winding path! Coiled Wines began in 2008 with winemaker Leslie Preston. Inspired by the stunning Snake River Valley, which elegantly winds its way through southwestern Idaho, Coiled Wines took it's name and remains a small-production wine label dedicated to crafting elegant wines from the Snake River Valley (Idaho's first grape-growing AVA). Since its beginnings, Coiled Wines has grown and developed into two labels: Coiled and Translations. Varietals such as Riesling (crafted in both an off-dry German style and a Champagne brut method), Petit Verdot, Syrah, Petite Sirah exist under the Coiled line whereas the varietals under the Translations label are as the name suggests...always changing! Leslie Preston draws her wine-making experience from the Napa Valley. With an M.S. in Enology from U.C. Davis, and professional experience from Clos du Bois, Saintsbury, and Stags' Leap Winery. However, when the time came to make wine under her own label, Preston and her family returned to her Idaho roots to source the grapes.Coiled Wines - for those who follow their own winding path!
