Windy Hill Nursery has seen a decline of customers since `08 because word is getting around the county that they withhold employees' paychecks, fail to pay minimum wage per law, and told one employee they're 3 months behind in their mortgage. Windy Hill (aka Stingy Hill) is located on a small, hard-to-find curvy lane of a road just outside Mount Vernon, OH with over-priced, exotic tropicals that don't meet the needs of the rural folk. It is not open Monday, and even on the days it is "open" it looks closed because their unpaid employees are dropping off like dead flies and nobody shops there anymore. Even the "radio program" they boast about on the website no longer exists. The plants I once bought there died -- surprise. My guess is these business owners overspent on their crowded, unairconditioned 1800's barn. As of August '09, they're withholding paychecks from Christmas '08 help, and failed to pay 3 former summer employees. In my opinion, this business has no ethics, community

This is a wonderful place to find beautiful plants, some quite exclusive, beautiful gifts in their gift shop and all kinds of gardening tools and supplies. Lovely place to remember for cooking classes and gardening classes that are offered on different subjects.An all-around fun and eductional place to visit!
