I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My 6 year old daughter has taken ballet for 2 years and absolutely loves it. We moved to Tennessee last fall from Missouri, so the spring of 2013 was our first experience at Centerstage.

To start things off, Centerstage shares a building with Taylor Gymnastics, so the building is very chaotic, cramped and uninviting.

We only had experience with one of the teachers. She was very nice and bubbly with me but my daughter did not like the class and said that it wasn't fun. About a month before the recital she was in tears telling me that she didn't want to go back. She said the dance teacher kept switching up the choreography for the recital routine and that it made it too hard to remember. Hearing this from my daughter threw up huge red flags.

First of all, my daughter LOVES ballet and loves to be on stage. Second, she has a very good memory, so when she mentioned that she was having a hard time remembering the dance because the teacher kept changing it, I knew there was something wrong.

I let her dance teacher and the school director, V. Moore, know that we weren't coming back to class. V encouraged us to try out a different teacher next semester.

We had already paid the recital fee ($50, I think) and there was also a mix up with dance costumes. The dance teacher told me that I paid for two costumes. I spoke with V in person and asked her about the costume. She brushed me off and said that she would look in to it in June and that she would also send out my recital fee refund in June.

By the end of June, we still had not heard anything from V. I emailed her to ask about the costume and status of our refund check. She was very cold and uncaring. After several exchanges back and forth regarding the costume and refund check I am disgusted with her and look forward to never hearing from her again. All except I have yet to receive my refund check. She said that she was leaving on a trip for 2 weeks and that she'd mail it when she got back in July.

I am extremely frustrated and would not recommend Centerstage to anyone.

The best thing going for Cente...

The best thing going for Center Stage is the move to Dynamics, and Miss Mende!
