I hired Kirchgessner Plumbing & Heating to help fix some major problems that were created by Gene Skinner of Skinner Plumbing & Heating-Gene Skinner and his son Matt Skinner had completely ripped us off and Dan Kirchgessner came right in and helped fix all of our the problems that Gene Skinner and his son had caused-Dan Kirchgessner was honest and did very good quality work.Everything was completed within a few days from point of contact & very affordable.I highly recommend Kirchgessner Plumbing & Heating if you have any heating,cooling or plumbing issues in or around Galesburg,IL. I'm 70 yrs. old, widowed, retired and on Social Security. In the Summer of 2010, I had planned and completed 6 necessary household repairs. In mid-Sept. found 3 major gas leaks in old pipes. Unplanned but HAD to be replaced. In mid-late October, old furnace quit running. I called a couple heating businesses. Was told they would be unable to find replacement parts and to get new furnace. I was tapped out and Christmas and cold weather were impending. I then called Kirchgessners. What luck! From start, Pam, who answered the phone, to John, who not only found, ordered parts and replaced for a fraction of the cost of a new furnace,were professional, personal and understanding of people in need. Needless to say, they were the first to be paid out of my next SS check. Yesterday, heat hit 91. AC would not come on. I called again, Pam was her usual pleasant self. John was on 6 other calls but worked me in to my relief. A special "Thank You" to a business who hires great personnel. THUMBS UP

So the plumber shows up at my house to check my backflow device for my boiler. (A yearly check that is required by the city.) After about 10 minutes, when he has completed the task, he starts checking my registers. Some of which were not working. So he spends the rest of the hour trying to figure out why they were not working. Then we got the bill. I thought that we were being charged for the first initial hour. But he added the work that he chose to do without my permission. Make sure you get everything IN WRITING from these people BEFORE they do anything. They did do something that we definately needed. However, it was a total surprise. And when confronting them about their mistake, they were completely unprofessional. We paid their padded bill, but we will not call them again.
