The Alachua County Road & Bridge Office is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the transportation network of roads, bridges and associated rights-of-way in Alachua County, Fla. It maintains more than 640 miles of paved roads and over 240 miles of graded roads. The office deals in various road-related problems, including pothole, stop sign and tree limb down, dead animal on the road, road side drop-off, clogged culvert and sight distance problems. It also sweeps the paved roads and picks up an average of 100 tons of litter per year. The Alachua County Road & Bridge Office is a part of the engineering and operations division. The office is located in Gainesville, Fla.
