Best Barn in the Houston Metroplex! I have boarded, volunteered, taken lessons, and been employed at SBEC. Conveniently located. Friendly riders. Helpful staff.



As a boarding facility, I have not been able to find a barn in the area that offers as much as Southern Breeze. I can not discuss my experience without discussing owner Cathy Strobel. I have known Cathy for 6 years now and she has continued to be one of the most understanding, compassionate, knowledgable individuals I have meet in the horse industry. Not only does she mange the barn and teach lessons, but she also writes a column in Horseback Magazine. While Southern Breeze might not have a multi-million dollar facility (horse treadmills etc), you can not put a price tag on the stellar management and friendly environment.



As an employer, SBEC does not differ from any other job I have had. Put in effort and "don't slouch off" and you will be appreciated and recognized. Cathy will bend over as far as possible to give you a day off ,If she can on short notice. i.e. family emergencies. For example, I went on a weekend vacation and asked if I could leave early friday to beat traffic and Cathy took over my last three lessons.



I find that no barn can offer you the versatility SBEC can. Traditionally I trained my horse in hunters, but who could not benefit from an occasional dressage lesson. I also found that volunteering with the therapeutic program gave me a new found outlook on life. It not only increases your passion for horses, but also challenges you to appreciate the many things you are blessed with.

My daughter has learned so much and has enjoyed the riding at Southern Breeze. Cathy and her instructors are world class!

I have been at Southern Breeze now going on 16 years! I have NEVER wanted to go anywhere else! The facilities are great with 4 big arenas that you can even ride in at night! Southern Breeze has a place for everyone from young to old, jumper or dressage and there is even a great therapeutic program! Southern Breeze over the years has been more than a barn to me and the people here are like family! Come see what you are missing!!

My daughter takes lessons here and we could not be happier. The facilities are clean and well-kept. The instructors are experienced and their skill and attitude brings out the best in my child. She has blossomed here. Highly recommend.

The people here are amazing. The facility is one of the best I've seen! They have really nice stalls. Great paddocks and turnouts. My ponies love the pasture time they get here! This really is a family barn! I've really learned alot since walking thru the doors!

My horses and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!! I've had great lessons and I've made lifelong friends! My granddaughter takes lessons there, and her progress has been amazing (and she is only 7)!

Southern Breeze Equestrian Center is centrally located yet is rural enough to make one feel out in the country. The amenities are fantastic. There are large, well lit arenas to use that drain well after any strength rain storm. There are large pastures for the horses and the time they are allowed daily in the pastures is extensive. The property is fully fenced in to protect the horses and riders. The barn manager lives on the property so the horses are never left alone. The bathrooms for the riders are roomy and clean, available for changing clothes in after work to riding clothes. There is plenty of parking for boarders and riders. Each boarder is assigned a large individual tack locker.
