I've been taking classes here for going on 6 months after taking an extended hiatus for a few years and I'm glad I came back. This is a great place to learn martial arts. The atmosphere is very family friendly. You get a good mixture of different styles. All the black belts are very helpful and it's an overall great place to be. Sensei Jeff is a great sensei and really works with kids very well. He's patient and understanding and will really bring out the best in your kids. All around a super nice guy. The price is on par with just about everybody else in town. Come on in and try a class. You won't be dissapointed. Highly recommended.

AAMA is great!

Our kids have been going to AAMA for 7 years now, and love it. All the instructors (black belts) are great with kids and adults alike. They are strict and teach discipline, but also have fun. We recommend AAMA to anyone who asks us about karate!

Most valuable, realistic, real life self defence in town

This is the place to be if your serious about self defence and martial arts. Trophys are great and tournaments are lots of fun if you plan a career in holywood but this is about real life, learning how to protect yourself on the street. It will help you grow to be more confident and just make you a better person. Try it!

Awesome place to learn martial arts!

My 13 year old daughter has been a student at American Academy of Martial Arts for approximately 5 years. She has excelled both physically and mentally. As the parent of a teenager I am pleased that she is also learning aspects such as honor, loyalty, respect, and integrity. These qualities are just a few of the qualities she learns as they teach the Code of BuKaraDo. It is very pleasing that she is able to take qualities such as these away from class and apply them to her everyday life. In addition, Sensei Adam’s enthusiasm and endless energy are very evident as he teaches these classes each week.

Solid martial arts studio

I've attended AAMA of Fresno for about 6 months now. Overall, it's a very good program and recommended. Upsides: 1) The emphasis is on real-world self-defense and blends multiple styles such as karate, jujitsu and judo -- I prefer that over a singular focused art. 2) The studio is a bit small, but that also means smaller class sizes. 3) Great instruction for both kids and adults; the kids have fun, but there's still enough substance here for adults. Downside: it is expensive, but realistically it's not much more than other programs around town.
