After researching this town, it's not the restaurant that's bad at all, I've dined here 4 times already to see if I perhaps missed something from the horrible reviews and it's seriously not this restaurant at all but the people that live in that town, a weird click of people that all it's based on is politics and extreme jealousy! Instead of embracing something that's classy in that town and would make difference they choose not to let outsiders in because there ego's are so far ahead of themselves they can't catch up to it. Face it all you Fox lake people so far the only thing that gives you a small name is your beautiful Lake that's it!

Great food with a beautiful ambiance steaks cooked perfect!! Definitely coming back

Great fine dining in a nice historic building. The Brickwood chicken is excellent. Had the ribs tonight and they were great. Nice bar area with TVs and a nice cozy dining room with plenty of tables. We love it. Casual atmosphere great service. Enjoy.

The service was fine. The food was poorly cooked. The management was argumentative. I will not be back and would not recommend anyone else go for the prices they charge. I ordered a ribeye, it came with seasonal vegetable, choice of potato and a dinner salad. The dinner salad came horribly overdressed and containing rotten cherry tomatoes. The main course came out with a nice portion of tasty steak fries, THREE asparagus stalks, and the saddest excuse for a steak. I ordered my steak medium-rare. It came out well-done. It was also very thin and gray, it had not been properly seared. To top it off, over one-quarter of the steak was plain fat, not marbleized, not some stripping along the edges or down the center. That all happened, but also a large section (about 2x3) in the middle of solid fat. I was told that's how the meat is supposed to be. I was told I was "wrong" when I stated otherwise. I would possibly try them again if not for the rudeness of that manager.

My husband and I dined at Brickwood last night for the first time. Our experience here was very good, and positive. The staff was great, food was fantastic, and I don't think its overpriced at all. This restaurant isn't Old Country buffet, or The ponderosa, its on the upscale side. I don't have any negative things to say whatsoever. We will dine here again, and will recommend.

It's about time Fox Lake has a good place to eat! Great atmosphere food is great, will be back for sure

I was totally excited about brickwood bar and grille to open in foxlake as we do not have any quality restaurants In the area. This area primarily plagued with the stench of drunk fox lakeans stumbleing down grand Ave into yet another dumpy low class bar or liquor store. My husband and I went out to dinner and was not impressed with this place. Which was quite a disappointment to us as we desperately were hoping to frequent a quality nice place to go to locally. The waitress was generally nice albeit inexperienced. However, I often felt like I was going to be hit in the head with a tray and had to lean out of the way several times as servers carried trays very low as they walked past our table. Additionally the owner/manager seemed to be sitting there at a table in t-shirts and jeans looking around and glaring at all the customers in the location. It was a little odd because you would feel them staring at you and did not feel welcoming or friendly. I could look past the mediocre service if the food was good. However it was rather bland. I was quite disappointed in my food, basically no flavor and drowning in bbq sauce to compensate. Our menu had stains on it. They have this weird thing of paper table numbers which were also stained. Unfortunately the experience they deliver doesn't justify the price. I wish them the best and hopefully they can work out their kinks. However I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Good food and friendly staff. Nice building and owner too. However they should probably re - think their management over there. I went in inquiring about hosting a Vino Van Gogh there and before I could even get three sentences in she had an attitude with me..waving her hands at me at talking AT me while bobbing her head from side to side lol. As a local business owner I understand the nature of PR and creating a strong reputation and a name in the community. She told no right off the bat...saying it would be a distraction to clients. That's fine except I haven't really seen any in there which is why I thought I'd reach out to them. Like I said I'm a local business owner as well. Apparently they don't need 16 seats filled for 3 hours.

Was in there not too long ago. Food waaaay overpriced. Go to davitos or za za instead. Quality of food is far too low for the prices. This is just another crappy establishment in the building that will be gone soon

My husband and I came to your restaurant for dinner and did not have a good experience at all. I know you are newly opened but missing half of my dinner and part of my appetizer is totally unacceptable and no one even offered to fix the problem in any way, especially after it was brought to their attention. Sad to say we will not be back and I have told others to stay away, service is not great and food is way overpriced, especially when you don't get what you pay for.
