Stir Crazy Baked Goods was recommended by a family friend. I knew I wanted pie instead of a wedding cake but there were so many wonderful flavors I wasn’t sure which one to choose and my work schedule made it difficult for me to make a tasting appointment. Robbie kindly offered to make me mini pies of 6 flavors that I could pick up and try at home. They were so delicious that my husband decided to also have pie instead of a groom’s cake! Robbie was so patient and easy to work with throughout the planning process. We ended up doing a mixture of whole pies and mini pies. We provided the cake stands but she delivered and set up the pies for the reception. The guests commented on how amazing the pies were throughout the entire evening! Thank you, Stir Crazy Baked Goods!

I have loved this bakery since I discovered their delicious treats at Avoca. I then loved them even more when I discovered their sweet rolls on Saturdays.

UNFORTUNATELY, I will not be returning after my most recent experience. I ordered cupcakes and cookies to be ready for a Sunday event. Since the bakery is not open on Sunday, I was told to simply request to pick up the order after 1 pm on Saturday so that the cupcakes would be baked fresh that morning and still be fresh for Sunday. I was told that even though I put to pick up after 1 pm, my order would be ready for pickup anytime after open.

I went in to pickup my order and get a sweet roll at 11:45 am on Saturday. I was informed that the cupcakes were not yet ready, but could be prepared with the requested additional art (that was requested in the original order) in about 5 minutes. The shop was very busy and I did not want to be a bother. I said I would return later after running some errands in the area.

When I returned close to 1 pm (the shop closes at 2 pm) my order had the artwork on it like I requested. However, when I went to pay I was only charged for the cupcakes - not the cookies. When I asked about the cookies the owner looked confused. She then looked up my online order and realized she made a mistake. She went to her stock of cookies and said she would sell those to me. I did not want those (because I wanted to know for sure the cookies were freshly made due to having the event the next day) and politely declined. She offered to make them for me and I could come back closer to 2 pm and pick them up since she was not going to make any more cookies for the day. This interaction involved the first time she said something off putting. She made a rude comment about the fact that she felt like the "guy" I was with would not want to wait on her or she could make them while I waited. It was not said with a smile on her face or with a kind voice. I chalked it up to thinking I read into her comment wrong. I decided it was not an issue and I would simply bake my own cookies. I thanked everyone for the cupcakes and left.

I then received a phone call from the owner about 3 minutes later. She told me that the reason I did not receive my cookies was not her fault, but my own. I asked for an after 1 pm pickup (which I was told to) and since it was about 10 minutes to 1, they were not ready yet. This was said in a very rude tone of voice. I was taken aback and just said ok. However, I find it hard to believe that in 10, or even 30 minutes, she could have produced the amount and type of cookies that I had requested.

The next issue is the freshness of the cupcakes. When we ate them on Sunday, I was not pleased. The frosting was hard. The cake was hard and dry. I have had next day cupcakes from this bakery before and they were not this way. These cupcakes were in no way made on Saturday morning. They were stale and ruined. We threw them out and ran to a local grocery store instead.

I am sad to leave a review like this on a local business. I love that Fort Worth businesses are thriving, but this is the 3rd time I have been put off by this bakery. The first was when I asked to promptly pick up an order at 7 am when they opened because I had an important deadline. The order was not complete and I did not leave until 7:20. The second time is when the owner was rude to her own employee in front of customers. This is the third time and I will be unable to return.

Best bakery in Fort Worth, for...

Best bakery in Fort Worth, for sure.

We worked with Robbie for our wedding at 809 at Vickery. She was a real delight to work with! She was friendly, honest and helpful ... and OMG her desserts were delicious. Robbie handmakes her desserts with love and you can taste the difference ... from the quality of the ingredients she uses to the time she puts into making it look great, I couldn't believe the quality of the food.

Not only were the desserts delicious, but she was very reliable and trustworthy as well. She arrived at the venue and set up the dessert bar professionally and it looked SO good.

A lot of couples say they don't get to taste their own cake ... but we definitely had plenty from our dessert bar and I'm so glad we did.

I seriously recommend Robbie and Stir Crazy Baked Goods if you want handmade, pretty and fresh awesomeness for your wedding.
