Make sure that you check if he has a bond in case you take him to court. More than a year ago, he came to my RV park and did a job of patching a few spots to repair my parking lot. On the contract, he promised that he would give me one year warranty for his job. After the job was being completed,it did not take more than 3 months that the new asphalt statered cracking. I called him more than 10 times to get him out, but he never came to see his terrible job. Instead he said that he never give a warranty for patching asphalt. He wrote in his contract that he would. So I took him to court to dispute that. when a marshall showed up in front of his house to serve him, he called me to see me at the court. But he never showed up for a court date. Now he owes me 1,500 and court cost. Even if he knows that there is a judgment against him, he does not pay attention to the court order. I am going to get a writ of execution to sell his equipment in auction to get what he owes me.

Make sure all work is completed before you pay!!!!!

I selected Raymond Concrete and Asphalt based on his prompt arrival to provide a bid and the professional demenor of Ray and his associate when they provided the estimate. Ray even contacted me the following week after providing my family a bid and offered us a reduced rate for the work to be completed at my home if I would allow him to start that date. After considering the savings I agreed and signed an agreement with Ray and provided a deposit as requested by him. On that same day Ray and his crew removed most of the asphalt that was currently in place, installed sand, set the forms including rebar per the contract.

The weather forcast in Fort Worth was bad and rain was projected for 3-4 days. Due to many rain delays beyond the control of Ray or his crew the weather finally cleared and it was agreed by both of us that he allow 2-3 days to allow the sand to firm back up and when that time past they were able to pour the concrete driveway.

I came home from lunch to check on their progress and as I was leaving to return to work Ray asked if he could receive the final payment and it seemed appropriate since they were completing the broom finish. I paid Ray and I asked him if they were going to remove the remaining asphalt and the concrete pieces, construction materials and the concrete that was still in a section of my yard where his men cleaned their tools. Ray replied yes and I took him at his word and returned to work.

I signed a contract agreement with Ray on 4-22-08 and taking in consideration that he lost 1 1/2 weeks for rain I project that he has had 2 1/2 weeks to return and remove the debris per the contract. I have contacted Ray on several occassions and asked when his company would come back and remove these debris and he continues each week to say he is coming to pick it up. Finally on today 4-23-08 I contaced Ray and asked for a specific date and he seemed agitated that I was contacting him about a section of the contarct that he has not fulfilled.

Let me make a statement and then give my personnel thoughts from experiance. I feel Rays company is more than capable to provide a quality professional service.

My reccomendation to anyone using Rays Concrete and Asphat is to require all aspects of the contract be finished and do not - do not pay provide him a final payment until you receive all aspects of your contract completed. Once your cash is in his hands you will become 3-4 or 5th priority. I still await the removal of the construction materials which is a breech of the contract we both signed.
