West Center is a non-profit, long-term-care residential and Senior Adult Day Program located in Fort Worth, Texas for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. Safety is our priority. Our mission is to serve the whole family in a compassionate and spiritual environment. We provide individualized care that enhances the quality and dignity of each person s life throughout the course of the disease. Through research and community outreach we help to enrich lives now and in the future. Each of our five suites is uniquely designed so that residents and their neighbors are functioning at approximately the same cognitive level. Each suite contains it own resident apartments, dining room, social space, and partial kitchen; bathing, utility and staff areas, outdoor access, and a beauty shop. Our resident apartments offer private or semi-private accommodations, and contain locking closets, storage areas, beds, nightstands and half-baths. Residents are free to b ring their own furnishings and decorations, to enhance the feeling of home.

- At the West Center, we focus on creating opportunities for our residents and day program participants to be successful and productive. As isolation ends, we often find that individuals become more comfortable and less agitated. Purposeful and meaningful activities to bring a sense of duty, accomplishment, and increased self-esteem. Our programs focus on care of the environment and care of self. Simple tasks, like folding and hanging clothes, or sorting by color and shape, restore normalcy and are often very effective in increasing happiness and quality of life. We offer a licensed Musical Therapist twice weekly, providing not only entertainment, but listening, cognition, and physical play. As you may know, West Center residents are grouped on each suite by stage of disease. The music therapist visits each suite and varies her offerings to address the specific needs of those in attendance.
