My mother is in the ICU and you have to scream for the nurses to come. I heard JPS is better. It is sad, not sure if people are over worked but this is not where you want to go when you have liver issues.

My sons birth

My wife and I were so insulted at the lack of concern as well as how rude the dr was while she was in labor, we actually LEFT THE HOSPITAL. Thankfully we had an amazing experience at Jps , yes Jps. I have great insurance and my choice of hospital. I'm glad we didn't give Baylor our money or share this experience with these jerks

POOR HORRIBLE SERVICE

My mother was brought by ambulance to the ER here 3 days ago. It was quickly determined that she would need to be admitted, but it took TEN HOURS to be moved into a room!! Since being admitted, the care has been sub par to say the least. She has not been bathed or even wiped down since she's been here. She had a tech make snarky comments about having to do her job in front of her. She is labeled High Fall Risk, and cannot stand on her own, but has accidents because when she calls for help to go to the restroom they take 30 mins on average before coming to help. Her IV twisted and had to be replaced, but they didn't come to re do it for FOUR HOURS, and that was after we asked 3x. Because the IV wasn't in, she was late getting her pain and nausea meds and had a horrible setback. When she mistakingly called the switchboard in the middle of the night looking for a nurse, the operator hung up on her. The care here is abysmal. We will NEVER bring a loved one here for care again. If there is not significant improvement in the near future, we will have her transferred to another local hospital.

Very dissatisfied

Went in for back surgery and first couple of days went well. After that I moved and walked around too much which made my pain sky rocket. I heard "you can't take this pain medicine home with you" more times than I can remember. Im not a "drug seeker" I rearly asked for it. If the doctor has given orders that I can have it, what gives the nurse the right not to allow me to get it? I was there for pain management, or so I thought. I was reduced to laying there in tears! I asked to be discharged soon after. Never again will I use them for anything!

I gave birth to my third daugh...

I gave birth to my third daughter @ this hospital last year, after our healthcare network switched from delivering at the other major hospital. This place was a total nightmare. I had to be induced with pitocin for medical reasons, so I definitely wanted some pain relief. I was told it would take less than fifteen minutes for an anesthesiologist to see me when I was ready. Two HOURS after I asked for pain relief, they came in and told me that they were sorry for the hold-up, that there were fifteen something women in front of me. In the meantime, not one nurse offered me any sort of IV medication or other relief. I would like to note that I have given birth with no drugs before, but suffering pitocin induced contractions w/o relief was absolutely horrendous. By the time my meds arrived, the baby was coming out...so I delivered with no relief. THEN, after everything I had been through, the nurses insited on coming into my room no less than every two hours,,,night and day. They continued to force me to wake my baby and feed every two hours, with the excuse that it was necessary for adequate milk supply. I was so incredibly exhausted that I finally said, "then forget breastfeeding and bring me some formula." Instead of formula, they sent yet another nurse (a lactation consultant) to lecture me about the horrors of formula. By the time my husband returned to the hospital, they had me in tears and close to a panic attack. I ended up switching OB's simply to avoid ever having to use this hospital again!
