After two years of installing poured concrete basements for L.P. Vetter. Pete informed John that he wanted to expand his ready mix concrete business and suggested that John go into business for himself. So in 1963 John and 3 full-time employees began installing poured concrete basements and Von Sossan Contracting was born. Current Description of Von Sossan Contracting: Today Von Sossan Contracting is an established name in the concrete business doing work throughout Northwest Ohio. John Von Sossan is the company President and is still active in the day-to-day operations. He is assisted by his two sons, Tom and Todd who are Vice Presidents in the Company. John's daughter Lynn is the company secretary. This truly makes Von Sossan Contracting a family owned and operated business. There are currently 40 full and part time employees. Von Sossan Contracting is a non-union company which offers a competitive wage along with various employee benefits including but not limited to, health insurance, paid vacation & sick leave, and a 401 K employee pension plan.
