Do NOT take your pet here! We brought our cat in. He had a UTI. He was on antibiotics that didn't seem to be working and we thought we were bringing him in to try a different antibiotic and perhaps some IV fluids if he was dehydrated. Within two hours in their office he was poked seven different times in three locations in an attempt to draw blood. The vet wasn't able to ever draw enough, so she decided to start an IV, get blood that way and then give him fluids. 9 attempts to start an IV - NINE. Got one finally in his arm part way after cutting away skin to expose the vein better so she see it. That IV slipped out after about 5 minutes so she started trying again. Two attempts later our cat began panting and going into shock. She grabbed for oxygen and held the tube to his face, but he was so scared, yowling, and his heart rate got very erratic. Oxygen wasn't even turned on. She finally had to euthanize him. No IV, she had to put it directly into his heart. She MISSED! Horrifying!

ATTENTION ** ANYONE IN THE FORT DODGE IOWA AND SURROUNDING AREA!! I ADOPTED THIS BOY OUT TO A COUPLE LAST NIGHT 11/29/13 FROM FORT DODGE...WHEN THEY GOT HOME HE GOT AWAY FROM THEM AND BOLTED INTO THE NIGHT!! PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR HIM, I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE FORT DODGE POLICE DEPARTMENT GIVING THEM A FULL DESCRITION OF HIM.. ~ CHEVY ~ IS HIS NAME...HE IS NOT AGGRESSIVE AND WILL MOST LIKELY APPROACH A CHILD IF GIVEN THE CHANCE.. PLEASE DONT HURT HIM OR RUN HIM OFF, CATCH HIM AND CALL ME ASAP OR THE FORT DODGE POLICE DEPARTMENT!..TO HAVE ANIMAL CONTROL PAGED 515-573-1426 HE HAS NEVER SPENT A NIGHT OUTSIDE AND IS NOT ACCUSTOM TO RUNNING FREE.. The office was clean and did not smell. The personnel seemed nice. They seemed more interested in if my Pet had all his shots and they asked for a copy of his record, (I had this faxed over this was not a big deal). He had an Appointment for grooming. The tech who would groom him came out and was also more interested in the shot recored, we went over my request, that I would find out later would be ignored. When I take my animals to be groomed I'm thinking they get a haircut, ears are cleaned hair is plucked and a bath. Mine gets a hair cut and I'm not called to get him when they are done. I get to the office and I'm given the bill and it includes medicated shampoo. (Not we noticed your pet seems to be having skin issues, and he may have allergies. We recommend this shampoo and the vet has other recommendation.) I have mixed feeling about this place, I think it could have been better.
