The owner Rob can NOT be trusted. He will lie right to your face and later tell you, "I didn't know that". We bought a VERY expensive piece of equipment from him, only to find out it was defective. When we tried contact him he would not return calls or messages. Then he texted "I will call you" and "I will come by soon". But he never did either. When we kept calling, he said I don't like your attitude. The man is a flat out crook. We should have listened to others who have dealt with him and had a bad experience. He is a smooth talker and a liar. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I will start out by saying the...

I will start out by saying the staff are friendly and knowledgeable EXCEPT who I was told to be the owner of the facility. He happens to be a very rude man who seems to put on a show about his vast knowledge of dogs and has absolutely NO people skills. He screamed at his employee right in front of me for something extremely trivial. It embarrassed me and the poor girl who works for him. He also questioned everything I knew about my pet, he even questioned the breed of my pet and basically critiqued everything. VERY annoying.

Next I took a tour. Immediately upon walking downstairs I smelled a STRONG urine odor that was unsuccessfully covered up by some sort of cleaner. I walked through the facility and the walls are dirty, even a couple of the walls were literally crumbling at the bottom and to top it off all the kennels are 75% RUST! This was only the "quiet" room or so I was told. Then I was escorted around and was pointed in the direction of a door that lead to where the "party kids" go but I wasn't allowed back there because of the noise. So I looked through the window and saw a cement/ cinderblock and chain-link city. It it extremely outdated, the "gray"cement floors were stained brown and yellow and just looked disgusting. I was then taken in the kitchen where TOWERS of dirty dog bowls and buckets were piled up and they had an extremely bad odor to them as well. I understand there are going to be a certain level of bowls from the high amount of dogs coming in and out, but these stack of dishes were a few feet high stretched across an entire counter and then there were more towering on the floor next to the ones on the counter. Hundreds!

All through the facility if a dog had some sort of dog bed it is put in like an half of a dog crate and they are all chewed up and stained. dogs that didn't have beds are forced to lay on the ground or these black rubber rectangle mats that are basically as hard as the ground and most of them are chewed up.

Being that it is a dog facility one can expect a certain amount of fur, but the whole facility was just clumps of fur and food everywhere in massive quantities.

One more thing that bothered me is what goes on when they let the groups out. I was standing upstairs getting information from the owner and they were in the process of letting groups of dogs out while I was waiting for my tour. The whole time the employees were doing this they were just screaming at the dogs. I'm not talking yelling, I mean full out screaming. I understand dogs need socialization and not all dogs get along, but if you need to constantly scream at a dog to get it to listen, then maybe groups aren't such a good idea? I don't want my dog to be screamed at the whole time they are being boarded because they don't happen to get along with another dog. I would rather skip the socializing and have them go to the bathroom alone.

I want my dog to be taken care of and to not be scared when I leave her somewhere. I don't want her to be caged somewhere that can host 100+dogs and have to listen to all 100+bark at all hours of the day. Overall the concept is good but the facility is a relic and needs to be updated and CLEANED. I was very disappointed. I think the humane society is cleaner and better updated than Chelstars.

My advice... take a tour before you drop your dogs off. Even if you are a returning customer.
