Provided by YP.comWe had a horrible experience from day one until the very end! Melanie was our land manager and she was rude, condescending, and dishonest. The house we moved into was filthy from being vacant for 4+ months. We asked if it could be cleaned before we moved in and she said she would send someone out to do so. When we moved in it was still filthy. She said to take pictures and clean it. It took us 3 days to clean it. Then after a couple of weeks, our appliances started failing. Our refrigerator had no shelves and no matter how high we put the temp it was freezing our food in the fridge part and our freezer was not cold enough to keep food frozen. Our stove’s pilot lights kept going out and it made our entire house smell like propane. She replaced those two appliances. Then the water heater’s pilot light kept going out so she asked what we were doing to make these appliances not work. What? We’re using them like normal people use a house! We refrigerate our food and cook our meals and use hot water! We’re not sabotaging these appliances, they’re just not working! She sent someone out to fix the water heater. Then, our dryer started to burn our blankets and towels. She told me to use a lower heat setting. Then a few months later with the no heat setting, our things were still being burnt. I called her again so she sent someone out. He told us the dryer was set for natural gas, not propane. This meant there was a flame going into the drum which is why our things were burned. She said she would not replace or reimburse anything even though the previous tenant had the dryer set wrong and the inspector didn’t notice this mistake. Finally, our front door started to fall apart at the bottom, so she sent someone out to check it. He said it was rotting and that it would need to be replaced. Melanie said she would order a door and call when it came in, but that it was “not a priority because the weather is nice.” Months went by and all she said was that it was on order. Then the monsoons came and the weather was not nice. Still she said it was on order. The last month of our lease finally came and she started sending out potential renters, so I told her the door should probably be replaced soon for the new renters. That week someone came out to measure the door. I thought it was already on order? The day after the measurements, two people came to the house to install the door…. Which was the WRONG SIZE! So they went back to their shop and got a NEW DOOR! If that was so easy, then why were we waiting MONTHS for a new door while monsoon rain poured into the front room? She is dishonest and will put all the blame on you for the things that were wrong before you even lived there. Then she charged us a $200 cleaning fee even though we cleaned the house and it was filthy when we moved in! If you don’t expect to get a deposit back and don’t care if people talk down to you then go ahead and rent through Melanie. GOOD LUCK!
