Miramonte is a Tucson based builder with properties in both Tucson and Flagstaff. I purchased a Flagstaff home from them in March. The process went really smoothly and the builder seemed excellent to work with, even on moving day when they helped me accommodate the concurrent sale of my house in the valley with same day closing/moving on my purchase. Prices in Flagstaff are definitely higher than in the valley. You can't get a lot here for less than $350K so I didn't expect high-end quality but I also didn't expect poor quality or poor customer service. I have owned several new construction homes and never had an issue until this house. Word of advice: read your contract thoroughly. I'm in the business so I know this but even so I didn't expect there to be any major issues. Silly me. Your contract may have verbiage, like mine, that says in the case of a dispute you can't get reimbursement of any legal fees should you need to seek legal action. That seems reasonable until something goes seriously wrong and you want to sue. This site doesn't allow enough room for me to tell you all of the details so here's a summary: A/C and dryer didn't work; entire engineered wood floor failed; blatant cut in cabinet; caulking used to fill a granite counter that was cut too short; cracks in walls; gaps under baseboards throughout; cabinet doors mounted too far apart so you can see the shelves and contents when closed; electrical boxes sitting too far out of the wall so outlet covers can't sit flush; etc etc etc. The list goes on and on.
