I'm giving Family Dental a 3 star rating, not because of the dental work or the dentists, but because of 1 employee that's been really brusk most of the time. I've been going to Family Dental in Fishkill for at least 4 years. I'm very happy with the dentist that I have. The office staff is very helpful and professional, except for one person. I had a question about my son's retainer. It had broken and I was waiting for it to come back from the lab. He was given a temp. The temp broke. I called the office and J answered the phone. I told her what had happened and asked if my son needed to come in for another temp or if it was ok to let it go until his appt. I was told that Dr. *** wasn't there that day and then she told me "why don't you call the Yonkers office, he's there today". Now, this wasn't an emergency and all she really had to do was take a message and relay that to him. I couldn't understand why I had to call the Yonkers office. I didn't even know that they had a Yonkers office. She was ready to hang up and I had to say "wait, can I have the phone number" and she replied "oh, yeah" and gave ti to me. I called the Yonkers office and he wasn't even there that day. I called again today with the same question and she answered the phone again. I asked to speak to one of the other people there and am still waiting for a phone call back.

I have been going to Family Dental for over ten years, and I have NEVER had any complaints about the service, the doctors or the hygienists. I am always treated with courtesy and respect, and everyone there is very pleasant. Dr. Stein takes the time to explain any procedure, why he recommends it, and what my options are. His work is excellent, and I have sent several friends and co-workers to him, and all have come back with wonderful opinions of him and the entire office.
