I can say that things have greatly, greatly improved since the 6/2/2012 post from Sarahill1865. She was correct as I witnessed this type of thing going on and it only got worse. But after receiving many complaints they now have new staff in the ER and weeded out those who needed to go. My recent visit went much more smoothly, I was well treated, and my confidence is nearly restored with this facility.

As we were traveling my 14 yea...

As we were traveling my 14 year old daughter started having an episode of Atrial fib. Her resting (sleeping!) heart rate was 140, when she awoke because she felt like could not breathe and was nausiated and light-headed we stopped and asked directions to the nearest medical facility. The term medical facility does not apply to this hospital, I would hardly call it a bandaid station! We walked into the emergency department with a caridac event in progress and were told to have a seat, someone would be with us to take her vitals in a few minutes. While the nurses in triage sat, leaned on the walls, and visited my child was terrified, as was I. I asked the security guard in the ER where was the next closest medical facility and he didn't know. He asked a passing nurse and she didn't know either. YEA RIGHT! After about 15 minutes passed and we were almost an hour into the event it passed. These events have to be recorded while they are happening. After it is done and the heart is back to beating normally it is useless to do an EKG. I have never been so amazed in my life that a patient with a cardiac event in progress is told to sit in the waiting room. I am glad to be back to Mississippi so that the next time it happens she can be seen immediately. We take cardiac care seriously here.

This program wont allow me to give no stars so I will give it one.
