My fiance & I went to try Genami sushi here in Fillmore for the 1st time on Saturday night & I'm sad to say that I was disappointed.

To be specific, we ordered the miso soup, chicken katsu dinner box & the Laker roll.



My fiance was happy with the Laker roll as was I, but the miso soup was barely lukewarm & tasted VERY "off", way too processed/fake.. I cant say exactly, but I knew it was the worst miso we had ever had at an oriental restaurant.

Secondly, my main dinner was the Chicken katsu box & I was extremely dissatisfied with this as well.

Everything that was supposed to be hot within the box was not, & the chicken was fried to a crisp. So much so that the breading was falling off of the little bit of chicken it was hanging on to.



I have been to many oriental restaurants & even worked at a sushi restaurant (that offered hot dishes as well as cold dishes), & I have never encountered this problem at any other place.

Im really hoping that Genmai can improve the quality of their food which they are serving to paying customers.

Very friendly service and great Sushi. We are so happy to have a sushi bar here in Fillmore. We need more businesses like Genmai Sushi.
