Established in 1957, the Fife Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that safeguards civil rights and preserves peace, order and safety. It operates a detective division that investigates cases of sexual abuse, robbery, homicide, auto theft, burglary, missing persons and financial crime. In addition, the department operates communication, traffic, records and crime prevention divisions. The Fife Police Department conducts neighborhood watch, vacation and vehicle security and volunteer programs. It maintains a police academy that provides training to law enforcement officers in the areas of criminal law and patrol procedures, traffic enforcement, cultural awareness, communication skills, crisis intervention, criminal investigation and defensive tactics.
