i needed a cheap haircut. i am trying to keep my hair long, and grow it longer, and i get nervous around strangers with scissors. i called a couple of places, and this one was a dollar less expensive, and a mile closer. also, the lady on the phone was really nice. i felt a bond with her already, and since there was no wait when i called, thought she would be great at cutting my hair! *half kidding* well, i arrived shortly thereafter, and the lady i spoke to was doing someone else's hair, a stylist came out of the back. the greeting was great, very polite and sincere. the lady cutting my hair had GREAT style, purple hair and purple glasses, yet she exuded class. i brought pictures of hairstyles. i thought they were all reasonable. she poo poo'd them, she said my hair was not they same as any of the five women i showed her. she told me my hair was damaged, which i knew. she told me three inches came off, which i knew. she was very no nonsense. she showed me how much hair she wanted to cut before she did it, telling me why it needed to go, and based on her mannerisms and overall style, i told her i was in her hands. i got nervous at one point, it was beginning to look way too gone, but i said nothing, since the damage had been started. the result: impeccable form (evenness, and so forth). a bit... simple. she told me she wanted me to come for frequent trims, and as i grew out healthy, substantial hair, we could talk fancy layers. my roommate says it looks much better and healthier. the stylist said it will look much better and lighter. i'm alright with it. if it had to be done, and it did, it was done well, by someone who knew what she was doing, and the ladies in the shop were great. very sweet. recommended.
