I used J&A Abstract when I refinanced my home and also when we bought a commercial building. I am very pleased with the services they provided, the title agent Kate, went above and beyond to help us with the whole process, she was obtaining payoffs, calling to get the release for the mortgage that was paid off a long time ago, but never removed from the records. The bank went out of business, and we could not even find out who took over.
The closing was at my home in the evening, and I did not have to take off work.

I found J&A Abstract via a web search when I was in the process of refinancing my mortgage. My lender (who was also great) was upfront and had mentioned that it was possible that I could save money. I have fairly high standards and J&A Abstract exceeded them. Initially I called them to ask a few questions and the woman I spoke with on the phone was very polite, answered all my questions, and followed up with an email. Throughout the process I communicated with Kate via email and I met Julia in person, she came to the closing. The best part is they don't charge a trip fee, so the settlement was at my South Philly home. The settlement itself went very smoothly. The company gives you all of your documents on a flash drive, which is convenient and saves paper. So all in all I saved money, didn't have to drive anywhere for the settlement, and dealt with professional (and pleasant) people.
