What Does Your Library Do?

Today's library is not a quiet building full of dusty books. In fact, with over 4,000 people entering the library doors each month, we really aren't that quiet anymore! We do offer over 62,000 books for library patrons, over 2,000 movies/dvds, and over 36,000 ebooks! We welcome over 4,000 people each month through the library doors. These "in the door" patrons are comprised of people searching for jobs to employees faxing time sheets to families checking out movies to children from parish schools to adults selecting reading material or audios for business trips. We also go to every school, daycare, nursing home, each rural community and all our large businesses with the bookmobile or face to face outreach services. Our bookmobile makes bimonthly stops in nearly every rural community and we fill 24 little free libraries all over the parish every month! We now offer ebooks, eaudios, and much more through our online services including a new library app called Librista that allows you to search the card catalog, check out books, and see what is in your account! Your library is truly YOUR commUNITY connection providing recreation, culture, information, and education for Union Parish!
