Founded in 1919, Safe Space is a nonprofit organization that focuses on child abuse prevention. It offers educational outreach and HIV/AIDS prevention programs, as well as case management services. The organization provides group homes for foster youths and home visiting programs for young pregnant and parenting mothers. Safe Space also offers a residential program for HIV+ homeless youths. It provides school-based services that include after-school programs and supportive care for youths and families with mental health issues. The organization s preventive services include counseling, support groups, therapeutic arts and peer mentoring.
