Founded in 1986, ACQC, also known as AIDS Center of Queens County, is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides direct services to people living with HIV/AIDS. It offers educational outreach services through formal presentations, prevention workshops, in-service training, street outreach and distribution of education materials. The organization also provides peer education training, on-site HIV/AIDS counseling, prevention case management, scattered site housing and harm reduction services. ACQC additionally offers food, clothing pantries, emergency financial assistance and transportation services. It provides legal consulting services on a range of legal matters, including permanency planning, entitlement, landlord and tenant issues, debt management, family law, immigration, discrimination and insurance. The organization also offers mental health and primary care services. ACQC operates more than eight offices in the state of New York. It maintains a location in Far Rockaway, N.Y.
