This is about the Barnette PO specifically, but I see that my concerns align with others elsewhere. The website requires I give them a star rating, which I do, only so that I can post this. Several of my letters and parcels have gone "missing", and I know I am not the only one this has happened to. I know because I watched the lady behind the parcel counter yell at a guy, holding his baby, because he had the same concerns as I did. What do we have to do to ensure we get our mail? Like the man before me, we pay $198.00 a year (which by the way, I was told that covers a year) for a MAIL box, maintained by this post office that cannot get my mail in the box! Do I need to remind these "good" folks at Barnette that mail tampering (I call it this because we are past "coincidences"), and theft is a FEDERAL crime under US Code Section 1708. Is this what is happening?!! ...Let's not even get started on how much money the people sending me packages have lost...

The mail carries in fairbanks are just awful! I can only assume that they hire mentally handicapped individuals to deliver mail. On several occasions the carrier has pulled up in my driveway and THROWN the package from the car onto my front porch. They also don't read the special instructions, such as "leave package OUT OF SIGHT by front door". To them this means "leave package on porch steps where everyone can see it". I've never experienced such horrible customer service.

This post office is immune from any concern regarding customer service. Their telephones will never let you get through to a human and they will never return a call. They lost packages and could care less.

One star rating is more than they deserve. I have had nothing but problems for the last two years. Over half of my mail never gets to me. What does, is delivered by my one or two honest neighbors. The other neighbors are keeping my things I believe. Or maybe the mail carriers are. Who knows. I have made claim over claims...nothing is EVER resolved. They NEVER answer their phone. And so far, NEVER return calls. They are lazy...They were stuffing HUGE bundles of mail in my mail box that was for everyone in a two block radius...the only way it was resolved was by me leaving a nasty note telling the carrier to do their job as I was tired of doing it for them and not getting paid. So far the last three packages have been "delivered" but I have never seen them. I am so frustrated I could scream and wish I could afford to sue them or at least take them to court.

This place is EXACTLY why the United States Postal Service will be done away with and mail delivery will be turned over to the private sector. Lazy mail carriers + people who don't answer the phone at the post office + supervisors who direct you to a website to make a complaint instead of receiving your complaint themselves = me completely switching to UPS.

This place is horrible. I don't understand how a government company can refuse to answer their phone. If it's lack of employees then hire more. It would do our economy some good to hire people. They NEVER answer their phones.

This post office never answers the phone and when they do they just quick transfer you without even answering my question and NO ONE ever ANSWERS their extentions!!!!!
