Where do I begin? This place had been visited by 2 of the 12 individuals in our group and highly recommended. Reservations had been made on Wednesday for a birthday dinner on Friday at 7pm. Long story short, 2 servers called in sick so their 14 year old son was thrown to the wolves on a Friday night. Underage person served liquor to patrons and had a difficult time providing adequate service. In fact, he broke down in tears in the middle of the restaurant. 2 hours later, only 2 of the 12 people at our table got their food. We even filled out order forms and put our names on them for more ease. But, still no food...they "lost our orders". Owner comes out to tell one of the people in our party that they ran out of rice and if it was OK to make his food without it. Really? Several of us left after being hungry for a while. Owner was approached, he apologized and asked for another chance? Really? He didn't take one step to make it right. You'd think he would have comped the few things we ordered. Or, invite us back for a dinner comped by him. But nothing. So, a $200-$300 ticket ended up leaving out the door and none of the 12 will come back. Not to mention the negative feedback that 12 of us will be sharing with others. Shame on you Mr. Owner. It's a wonder how you've been in business so long.

Another Japanese restaurant operated by non-Japanese. The food was fine but it took us several attempts to get the waitress to finally get us our bill. We went on a Saturday evening about 7:30,it was not too busy, but some groups arrived around 8:00 pm to occupy the wait staff. The ambiance was not particularly Japanese as they had ESPN playing on a big screen -- no one paid any mind -- and the music was 70's and 80's U.S. pop tunes decidedly un-Japanese music.
