elegant dining

You don't walk away hungry. The Prime Rib is as good as it gets. The horseradish is real, not some bottled sauce and the drinks are top shelf. If your looking for an elegant meal without cleaning your wallet out, this place fits the bill.

STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!

Restaurant Review - The Oregon Electric Station (this is a long one folks) To anyone going to, or thinking of going to Eugene, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Been going here for 25 years, often driving from Pendleton, and this is the worst we've ever seen it, and will encourage everyone imaginable to NOT go there until the end of days. Yes folks, that bad. The manager did an outstanding job of capping it off. We did not receive any dinner rolls until we got all of our meal, while the couple across from us got theirs (different waitress) at the start of their seating. The mushrooms we got were very good, and the portion size was just right. Unfortunately, the cost was still the same as the last time when we got at least double the amount. No salad, as it is now extra, though 6 months ago, it was not. Completely shocking as far as I'm concerned. Waitress didn't even ask if we wanted one at the beginning, had to ask a passer-by staffer what the deal was on that. Dad - Filet was tough, and not tender or buttery in texture. His potatoes were liquidy, and barely solid. The vegetables were barely cooked, and quite crunchy as the fork would not stick in very well at all. Me - Prime rib was good, yet plain and overdone. My potatoes & veggies were the same as my father. Asked to speak to a manager, and this is where it turned into a crapstorm. The manager came up, and with a little bit of jogging, remembered us. I informed him of the issues on my side, to which he kept looking away as if ignoring it all. My father informed him of his issues, to which he was indignant and belligerent towards him and me. He stated that he thought we were there to trash him and the place. That the food we got was their style and way of doing things (his words), and that our complaints were bogus. My father, immediately incensed, told him we've been coming here for 25 years, to which the manager responded, "well I've been here 27 years." My father, "Then how come we've never talked to you before the last two meals we've had?" Manager stutters. Father, "Because those meals were good, these were not." "Well, I think you're here to cause problems, and I'm going to go ahead and step away now," Manager. My reply, "Good." He walked away, immediately went to the back, and was audibly complaining about us, bad-mouthing us to his staff, with waiters and waitresses entering and exiting the area. This enraged both of us, as we were a good 30 feet from the staff area, and could clearly hear him. I looked at dad, he dumped out his drink, and we left our table. We went to the front, and waited for our bill. A waitress came, got our bill, which was paid, and informed her that what the manager was doing was unacceptable, that insulting us to his staff was beyond classless, and if there was every a possibility for us to come back here, or to give positive statements, it would never happen. Told the waitress not to be sorry, as it was not her fault (at least she tried to be a customer service oriented person), but what we witnessed (and the couple next to us) and received was deplorable. As my father put it, "Why would we spend over a hundred dollars on a meal just to trash you and this restaurant?" We loved this place, and wanted to see high standards, but the manager would have none of it. His mind was made up, his reactions set in stone, and that was it.I did apologize to the couple next to us for the classless actions of the manager at the end of the meal and we wished them to enjoy their meal, and left (dad even dumped out his drink due to disgust).Again, I say this to everyone reading. If you ever, ever, consider going here, do so at your own risk. It's expensive, the staff somewhat to moderately capable, and the management surly and incompetent.
