DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!! This is the worst place I've ever experienced in any industry. I am a new animal owner, I haven't ever had a cat so this was the first time I was getting an animal fixed. These people have no moral whatsoever and are scam artists in the worst possible way. Before you have you pet checked in you have to sign a paper that if they are pregnant and you would like to get them fixed, there is an extra fee. Cool understandable, i get that. what they do NOT tell you is that they DO NOT check before they OPEN THE ANIMAL UP. I got a call from the clinic while my cat was ON THE TABLE, OPENED UP telling me that my cat was pregnant and what would i like to do. When i asked them why they didnt check before she told me "there is alot of animals back there so they dont always get a chance to check let me get you to someone who can tell you about how it works sorry" she ACTUALLY said that to me. It was a receptionist who was prob new and not hip to the LIES they tell or the LACK of information they give to you about the process. I got transferred to a nurse and When I told them I would like to have the kittens then they informed me that the anesthesia would effect the kittens and damage them so they would not come out right. THAT IS NOT A CHOICE. BEWARE of this place. Then they charged me an EXTRA 120 because my cat was in her THIRD trimester. Tell me how a veterinarian cant tell that a cat is in their THIRD trimester before surgery??? Like i said i am a new animal owner and she did not show any signs to me of pregnancy thats why i TOLD THEM that she might be pregnant so they can check. They did no tests NOTHING, put her on the table opened her up and told me the kittens would be damaged if i decided not to go forth with the surgery. So basically i was conned into a FULL BLOWN ABORTION for my cat and had to pay $240 all together at a low cost clinic. This place is a scam and a group of sickening immoral people work there. They had NO remorse when I was so upset about what had happen to my cat. I admit i was VERY upset but rightfully so. They are horrible people. No apology NOTHING, just a to bad so sad attitude. I want everyone to know because they DO NOT explain how they check if they are pregnant or not and it is DISGUSTING what they did to my cat and my little family. DO NOT GO HERE they should be arrested for animal cruelty for profit. Its horrid what they do to animals at this clinic. I hope one day it gets shut down, because i'm SURE i'm not the first person they have done this to. Now as a new pet owner i will make it my DUTY to make sure i tell everyone who needs to fix any animal to NEVER go here. Disgraceful.

I am SOOOOOO happy with the veterinary clinic! I first brought my dog in here to get spayed, and it was reasonable priced and they did a phenomenal job (along with the front staff being super friendly and super professional. When they told me they were open 7 days a week and I compared what my regular vet charged to what they charged, I switched over to them. It's a little bit of a trek (I come from Temecula area about 30 minutes away), but it's far worth it, knowing my dog is in great hands and I know I won't get charged an arm and a leg. I tell all my friends about Parkway Pet Clinic....it's kind of like a good mechanic, when you find someone you trust and you know they do good work, you stick with em!

I have a cat that had REALLY bad breath and stopped eating! I was afraid I was going to have to put her down. Dr. H examined her and recommended a dental. She's about 7 and has never had a dental before. I didn't realize how important it was to keep up on her dentals, etc. She had to have a couple teeth extracted (I guess they were fractured and causing her pain, which was the reason why she wasn't eating!)

Now, she's back to normal. She's eating soft food and is free of pain. I'm SO HAPPY with Parkway Pet, I'm referring all my friends there now!

I'm really impressed with this clinic. My dog had a torn ACL and had a "tightrope" surgery done here. I drove 60 miles from Riverside area because they were reasonably priced, and a friend of mine told me they were good. They are amazing! My dog is back to 100% now. The quality of care at Parkway Pet Clinic was beyond my expectations. Definitely 5 stars!

I took my dog, Pinky here when she ate something bad. She started throwing up and I didn't know what to do. Parkway Pet Clinic was able to get me in quickly and took her right to the back, so they could treat her. They saved her life. I am so grateful! Thanks to the amazing staff and doctors at Parkway Pet Clinic!

I am so happy I went here! Everyone there is so friendly, sincere and straight forward. On top of that, my Chihuahua doesn't warm up to many people and she was so easy to warm up to everyone there. The visit was fast and pain free and I felt as the vet loved helping animals. They made me very comfortable and welcomed.

I took my schnauzer “Penny” to get blood work done and we got the results right away and reviewed by Dr. Henderson. The last place I took my dog to, test results and information on my dog's heath was communicated to me by the receptionist. My last vets rates are the same were even higher than this place. I appreciate the extra time the vet (Dr. Tya) took and will be back.

The only knock is the outside parking needs a little work.

The care at Parkway Pet Clinic...

The care at Parkway Pet Clinic is excellent! We brought my cat in very early when he was clearly unwell. It ended up he had diabetic ketoacidosis, and the staff was upfront about both the prognosis and the cost. We got twice-daily update calls and were encouraged to visit him. It was clear that the staff was closely monitoring him - they recounted specific behaviors, asked detailed questions, and could answer any questions we had.

Recently, we brought our dog in for a knee surgery cleaning. We had met with Dr. Henderson and her team and decided they were the best choice for our dog.

Compared to previous surgeries, her pain was dealt well and she had no adverse reaction to any of the meds or anesthesia. Our family was extremely pleased and grateful for the sincere discussion and consideration with Dr. Henderson and her staff.

We've been taking our cats here for the past year. It's been nothing but positive experiences for us! All the staff (vets included) know you by name, and remember your pets. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable, and professional, yet friendly. You always feel comfortable going here and knowing your animals are in good hands. I have had experiences with condescending vets at other places, but never at this clinic. I would recommend them to anyone!

Yes, it's busy, but that's because it's the best veterinary hospital in the entire area. Everyone wants to bring their pets there. The front office staff is friendly & efficient, the technicians are well trained and good at what they do (which is SO important), & the veterinarians are veterinary medicine gurus.

I recently moved an hour out of SF but still bring my dog Jupiter to Parkway Pet Clinic because I know he will get the very best care there. Totally worth the drive.

Dr. Tya Henderson is the best ...

Dr. Tya Henderson is the best vet. She really cares -- and loves to be with my two schnouzers “Tonka and Timo”.

She loves being a vet -- unlike many other animal hospitals & vets who only see dollar signs when I walked into other offices, with my friend's pets whom I was caring for. Dr. Tya Henderson actually sees pets as part of a family.

I highly commend Dr. Tya Henderson...

Our little puppy got really sick the first week we got her from the pound. We took her to Parkway Pet Clinic - they were able to check us the same day. We were late to our appointment, but they were nice and gave Pepper great care. We'll likely keep taking her here for her checkups.

Worst vet experience ever! M...

Worst vet experience ever!

My precious boxer got in a fight with another dog in the home and was severely injured. We felt that our dog needed immediate attention and took him for the first time to Parkway Pet Urgent care due to the proximity to our home. Once we got Apollo in, we were presented with an itemized list of service totaling over $1,600.00. Because we've been through instances where vets have padded the cost estimate, we began questioning what the costs were for and the necessity of certain items.

The vet tech there took great offense to our questions and became increasingly snippy with us. This was upsetting, and we remarked that there seemed to be a lack of compassion in dealing with us. The vet tech got extremely angry, and began raising her voice at us, saying we were calling her names. She refused to answer any more of our questions because she didn't like our "tone", and telling us she would get our dog and we could go somewhere else for care. We responded that we would, and would also be making our opinions about their horrible customer service public. The whole situation escalated into a serious verbal disagreement, and I asked if they could just stabilize our dog so we could take him somewhere else.

We were under great stress and were not at that time advised of the seriousness of our dog's condition. It was only when the doctor came in with teary eyes saying that our dog could die if he did not go into surgery immediately did it hit us that we needed to act poste-haste.

Once it was established that our dog was going into surgery, they called the police and followed that by a call to Animal Control. Of course, since our dogs are all licensed, and no crime was committed, neither the police or animal control did anything. But in our opinion, though they denied it, the Parkway Pet Clinic did that for no other reason than to try and cause us more problems.

When we were able to take Apollo home a few hours later, the Parkway staff provided no written instructions for Post-op care, just a quick verbal briefing.

A few days later, we took our boxer to his regular vet . They did the post-op checkup on Apollo. We were relieved to learn that the veterinary staff at Parkway had done a competent, professional job of treating Apollo. Best of all, his regular vet charged us nothing at all for the exam or post-op wound care, which is the type of caring customer service we have become used to.

Please, if you are a dedicated dog owner and, like us, question the vet closely about what they are doing to your pet and why, do NOT go here. They are apparently not used to dog owners who don't passively accept everything they are told, and they respond extremely poorly to questioning or criticism. We have been to several vets in the local area over the years, and have NEVER received such a lack of customer service. In fact, this may be the worst customer service I've ever received from ANY business in my life. They may have a competent medical staff, but their execrable arrogance and poor customer service will ensure we NEVER go Parkway Pet Clinic ever again.

Parkway Pet Clinic is awesome!...

Parkway Pet Clinic is awesome! The front desk is always friendly, caring, and helpful. My dog has been examined by several of the vets and all of them have been extremely attentive and listened to what I'm telling them, instead of just nodding and interrupting, as I've experienced with other places.

They are great about discussing all the options and very honest about whether or not a medication is really necessary. They do not try to push medications or procedures on me, which I really appreciate. I've had nothing but positive experiences with all Parkway Pet Clinic employees.

Pros: 1) Parkway Pet Clinic p...

Pros:

1) Parkway Pet Clinic prices are very reasonaable. I called over 10 vets in the Escondido/Vista/San Marcos area to compare prices and kept a spreadsheet. Prices for dentals could not be beat

2) Friendly staff- During our wait we were offered water and watched a few informative shows about my dogs “Rambo” teeth cleaning procedure. This was helpful so I new what to expect when I got home and how a few of the tooth extractions were going to cause temporary pain and discomfort for Rambo.

3) Waiting area/Personal Service- I did not have my car so I waited about 4 hours and I tend to be very inquisitive. By the end of the day, I felt like I was almost an expert on the dental tooth extraction procedure. I even spoke with several medical sales reps who were all vying for Dr. Henderson attention. When he saw I was still waiting he personally asked for me to take a walk with him and get lunch. I really appreciated that as 3 the sales reps looked dumbfounded.

Cons:

1) Waiting: As great as the staff is, it sometimes takes long for them to call you into the room. I guess when you are so busy that generally means you are doing something right.

2) Building: The building has gone through some renovations and recommend a few brighter colors and better maintenance of the parking lot.

All in all, I will be back and recommend. Thanks to Dr. H for spending that extra time. It mean allot to me!

This the worse Vet that I had ever visited. The Doctor didn't talk to me at all. I ask multiple questions and did not say anything. They gave me the dogs medicine with out giving me any instruction or explaining the reasons for the medicine.
