Can I give this less than 1 star? Most horrible experience ever with a "doctor." Not sure how she received or retains a license.



Can you say "sterilization?" There is NO hot water to wash your hands before inserting your contacts. I still washed my hands much more vigorously than the doctor did. Then after Dr. Shah washed her hands, she touched her desk, her pen, and paper before touching my contacts. The eye machine was dirty, and was not cleaned before OR after I used it. Who knows what else I missed...



The doctor is very pushy, as a previous reviewer states. She charged me for my contacts and contact lense fitting all at one time, BEFORE we had decided what contacts I should be getting. I didn't think this would be a problem, since I have never had a problem with a doctor before.



I had trouble with the contacts, and over the course of 4 weeks, I kept returning to her to tell her about each problem. Also, the lense solution she had me using stings your eyes. Apparently this is "normal." Not so with my brand. She recommended the same brand of rewetting drops and I did not take her advice.



When I called to tell her I'd had enough of the lenses SHE wanted me to have, and told her I wanted the ones I originally told her I liked, she said it would be a 3 week wait for one lense, and a 4 week wait for the other, because they were on "back order." I said that was fine, because I didn't want to be uncomfortable for a year.



Around the 3 1/2 week mark, I called to check on my contacts, since I hadn't received any update. She said they were still on back order, and that if she didn't receive them by Friday she would call the following Monday. That Monday came and went, then Tuesday, and most of Wednesday, before I called her and told her I needed my contacts. She said they were "still on back order" and that she was with a client and would have to call me back. I asked her what time she would be calling me and she said before 6pm. As you can probably guess, she never called.



I called back the following day, around 3p.m. and she said she was out of town and would have to call me back. I told her I have a doctor's appointment with a specialist, for which there is a 6 week waiting list, and I need to be able to see correctly for that appointment. Finally, I let her know I would be cancelling my order. I read a super pages review that said she charged someone for cancelling their order, so who knows how long she will continue try to rip me off.



I've never had a worse experience with a "professional", and I do collections for a living! Because of this 9 week hassle (so far), I will need to issue a claim and a chargeback on my flex benefits card to get the money back for something I never received. By the way, a word to the wise, she charges an arm and a leg for lense fitting and contacts!!!



Because I in NO WAY trust Dr. Shaw, I will also have to come out of pocket (instead of going through my insurance) to go where I trust the doctor, and can get my contacts within 2 days. I will be going back to Doctor Connie Nguyen at Lenscrafters Auto Park Way in Escondido, where I had exceptional and timely service! I recommend you do the same.
