JJ Lay Company is a Terrible Company, we got their number from our insurance company.They came over to find out our odor problem in the basement, ended up they find nothing and want to charge us $59.99, and when they sent the bill, it is $79.95!!!!! --- For doing NOTHING and didnt inform us the payment when we made the appointment.!!!!!! When we called for the billing issue, the girl who picked up the phone whose name is Bonnie, is terribly rude. Basically WORST plumber company you could ever imagine! NEVER USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible.I have a rental property toilet that had a slight leak and needed two nuts tightened (the renters are unable to do this). I would normally do it myself, but was too busy at work to head over. I call JJ Lay and they can't give me a quote, but tell me it will be a minimum $60 diagnostic fee that will be cancelled if I authorize them to fix the problem. Fine. I get a call from the plumber (Levi) awhile later letting me know he tightened two nuts and cleaned up some small rubber pieces in the tank and the toilet is working fine. He tells me it's $130...no call beforehand to let me know what the problem is or how much it will cost to fix. Except for the cost to tighten two nuts, all is good, right?I get an email from the renters that night from the renters asking me what the plan is to replace the toilet. What?? Then they tell me that the plumber told them the toilet needs to be replaced. I call the office back and talk to Sharon, who pulls the documents, and says the plumber tightened two nuts, cleaned up some small rubber pieces in the tank, and that there is some calcium buildup in the toilet but that it is working fine. I tell her that the renters told me the plumber told them that the toilet needs to be replaced. She is really confused and tells me that the toilet might need to be flushed twice if there is too much toilet paper, but that it should be fine. I requested the documents be sent to me.When I got them in the mail a few days later (along with the bill due on receipt!), the work order says what the plumber did, says there is some calcium buildup, and that the toilet needs to be replaced.Conclusion: it takes $130, two phone calls, a renter, and a work order to get two nuts tightened and a new toilet diagnosis. About that refundable diagnostic fee...

JJ Lay's drain cleaning technician, Robert is a worth his weight in gold. We had another company come out and try to clean our main drain and could not get it running. We called JJ Lay and Robert worked until he got the tree roots removed from our drain. We are now on an annual maintenance program and don’t have to worry about the pipes backing up anymore.

I checked the Better Business Bureau and found that JJ Lay has been an accredited business for more than 38 years and in business for more than 57 years. That convinced me to give JJ Lay a call. I had a leaky toilet and the shower was dripping. Levi, came out and made the repairs quickly and efficiently with minimal repair parts. Levi was the ultimate professional, filled out the bill and was on his way. What a great company. It is refreshing to find a company that cares in this day and age.

We were out of town and our neighbor was watching our house during the last cold spell. The heat was turned down and we had a pipe freeze and break in the crawlspace. JJ Lay promptly came out and went into our small crawlspace and repaired the frozen and broken water pipe. He brought a water vacuum and actually sucked up all the water and cleaned up where the water had flushed some mud into the basement. WOW! What a great company. I will be telling all my friends about J. J. Lay and consider me a lifetime customer of J. J. Lay.

J. J. Lay saved me more than $3,000.00. Another company came out and tried to rod out my sewer. They were not able to get through and they said the sewer would need to be dug up and replaced at a cost of over $3,000.00. I decided to get a second opinion and called JJ Lay. When JJ Lay arrived their guy reviewed all the information and decided to try to rod the sewer. After working on the sewer for a while, he was able to clean the pipe of tree roots. He also used a camera afterwards and found that the pipe was clean. He then used a product that eliminates tree roots for a year and guarantees it. The guarantee pays for another rodding if it backs up during that year. Our back yard has been saved and we saved tons of money thanks to J. J. Lay. No wonder they are still in business 57 years later, they treat the customer fair at a reasonable price.

Although this house has only one bathtub, it had no room for a shower bigger than 32”x 32”. Thanks to JJ Lay for looking at our problem and coming up with an answer that will allow us to now have a shower. The whole job was finished on time and the tile work looks perfect. We will be using our new shower for years to come, all thanks to J. J. Lay.

I was actually laughing at the company I hired because they preformed such sloppy work. At one point the unit was placed in sloppy place and they did not have the correct tools to complete the job. I kicked them off my job and hired JJ Lay. I believe the unit is now installed properly and working. If I need any future service, I will ask for Curtis or Ricky from JJ Lay.

J.J. Lay was wonderful. Our furnace stopped working in the middle of the night and JJ Lay came out and made the repairs in record time.

In this day and age, I find it far-and-few when a person can actually feel secure with the work product of a contractor whether it be a carpenter, mason, plumber, etc. Matt had to re-vent my hot water heater, which to me it was an extremely important job that had to be done correctly to prevent any carbon monoxide leak. Matt came in and worked continuously, he had a good attitude and displayed pleasant professional manners. I guess that this is what it takes to keep a great company like JJ Lay going.

I hired JJ Lay to install radiant heat for my house. They completed the work, but the system would only heat my house to 53 degrees. After leaving phone messages for a week, they finally set an appointment to come look at my house. After review of the system they installed they had no suggestions on how to get the system to actully produce enough heat to warm my house. They said they would do some research and call me back. They never did. They will not respond to my emails. Bottom line - beware of this business. We are in the process of reinstalling the system they put in as well as spending additional money to make the system work.

J.J. Lay has done many jobs for me in the past 30 years. I've had 2 hot water heaters put in and serviced and replaced. I have hot water heat in my home that they have serviced for ever. My first Boiler lasted 20 Plus Years. They put in another great boiler in for me about 10 years agao. I had a burst copper pipe fixed on Christmas day. No extra charge for holidays! July 4th the basement flooded and they fixed everything and even knew what the insurance company could cover for me. They used to do electrical work and put in many fixtures for me. But Plumbing and Heating is their calling. Leaking faucet? call them! Drains slow? Call them! No job is too much or too little for them.
