Disrespect for the customer

I called Horizon to get an estimate on replacing an air conditioning system (condenser and coils). After a check by a technician, a sales rep came out to talk about equipment and prices. When she presented her proposal, I noticed that she had not said what size condensing unit her bid was based on. When I asked her, she refused to tell me, saying that it was a "trade secret." When pressed for an answer, she explained that Horizon did not provide this info because I could use it to get another company to offer a lower price! Sure, that's a possibility (its called competition) but more likely I needed the unit size to make an informed decision. Otherwise, I was just getting a pig in a poke! Horizon should be ashamed of such disrespect for the consumer and wasting everyone's time.

Took Care of Our Needs

From Greg & Rick in the office keeping us informed of the part, delivery, etc to Tom, the tech that took care of the repair's, we couldn't have been more satisfied. The way the company followed up with us was so appreciated throughout the 6 weeks it took to complete the repairs. BEWARE

My wife and I had boiler problems 12/09 and had $1,200 work done on our boiler to bring boiler up to very good operating condition. Tech and office was very professional and all work performed well. However, and this is a big however….during recent Feb 2011 cold blast of weather our boiler was not turning on. We phoned Horizon and they showed up rapidly (45min) and the tech (Greg R) was knowledgeable and efficient. The igniter which was replaced in 09 had gone out. This igniter had a one year warranty and no longer functioned after 13 months. Greg said it would cost $575 to replace. My wife first talked with the owner requesting Horizon replace the part at no charge . She was told no. I called the owner and with a bit of haggling got him to discount $100. Although dissatisfied I accepted the $100 discount. BOTTOM LINE - BUYER BEWARE! – HORIZON DOES NOT HAVE GOOD BUSINESS SENSE TO HONOR A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER VALID REQUEST. A $575 PART WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY NO LONGER WORKS

Sketchy Pricing

Although the technician was professional and timely, the service manager provided sketchy pricing. After a warranty replacement by Trane allotted Horizon a $300 credit for labor, they indicated an additional $700 was required for the service. After questioning this, I was told a full day's 8 hour work would be required for the replacement. The actual work only took 2 hours, and the manager refused to lower the price even though his estimated time for service was way off. I again called to question their pricing policy before writing this review and was given a lot of lip service about the average cost per hour of their competition and how much "research time" was required. Simply refunding me some of the cost would have resolved the issue, but this was not even offered.

Exceeded our expectations in every aspect!

Horizon Mechanical exceeded our expextations in every aspect of our repair. I feel their pricing was very reasonable. The customer service of this company is the best I have ever experienced! I WAS OVER CHARGED AND WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE COST I WAS TOLD THAT THE PERSON THAT HANDLED THAT WOULD CALL ME BACK THE NEXT DAY. THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO. THE CALL NEVER CAME

Good response and follow-up

We were very happy with the quick response of Horizon when we had a leak. The technician was very nice and explained the problem clearly. It was a little pricey but after checking around it was within the range of the competition.

rip off

THEY TOTALLY OVERCHARGE FOR SERVICE....300% overcharged!!! We tried to discuss the issue and they were completely unwilling to hear our point or provide us with an explanation of service. Go somewhere else.

Horizon Mechanical is an outstanding HVAC company! We have used them for several services including installation of a new furnace and air conditioner, new duct work, as well as general service needs. Their integrity is first and foremost. When they tell you what needs to be done you can trust that you are getting exactly what needs to be done for a fair price. They will work with you to make a good decision as to what fits for you and your home. They are knowledgeable and their work is always completed in a timely, courteous manner. We've been very happy with the work they've done for us. It's been more than worth every penny we have spent!
