I am a "weekend warrior" rider, with more years behind me than ahead of me. This small business was great to deal with. The staff all ride bikes and know of what they speak. I will always pay more to get the knowledge and service that come with a company like this!

I spent over $2000 on two bikes and one was the wrong size frame. Don't buy a road bike from them if they try to use stand over height as a means for fitting you for a frame. My frame is 2 sizes too big. They did nothing to rectify the situation. What a waste.

I was looking for a tandem bic...

I was looking for a tandem bicycle and had narrowed it down to a Trek T900. They had one in stock, so I went over to look at it. I knew it was not a 2011 because of a change in some components. They told me that they got it last year (2010). The MSRP for both years was $1100 (actually $1099.99) and that is what they charged me. After picking it up, I did some checking and discovered that it was a 2008 model, which had a MSRP of $990. I emailed Trek and they confirmed that it was a 2008 and was sold to Babcock Bicycles and that I had the MSRP correct. I had assumed that a dealer who had been around for as long as Babcock would not greatly overcharge a customer, so I did not investigate before buying. I had never been overcharged by a dealer in the 30+ years of buying bicycles. Several years ago, I was even given a discount by a different dealer of $300 on a $1500 MSRP bicycle because it was a new left over from 1 year ago. I never thought that a dealer would charge me $110 over MSRP for a 3 year old bicycle.

On the plus side, the sales person who helped me was courteous and helpful. On the minus side, it wouldn't shift into 8th rear gear (11T) and the tandem chain was a little looser than recommended. Took 10 minutes for me to adjust though. Fortunately, it was not sold to someone without tools and bike maintenance knowledge.

I complained via email, but they have not responded. I had previously purchased a bicycle from the dealer that they bought out (Ted's Bicycles) and merged with. He had sold me a current model year bike at MSRP, not $110 above MSRP for a 3 year old bike.
