Johnnies is the best beef around. We drive there from Carol Stream just for the beef. I have always had a good experience here and honestly never heard the security speak. 2 thumbs up for Johnnies

Dirty place dirty employees who never wash their hands. The security guard is very rude and thinks he owns the place and everyone works for him. That rude attitude will put you out of business. Wants to close/lock doors in womens faces. great job as**ole. DO NOT GO HERE

I saw a worker taking out the trash using no gloves to come back in and start serving food WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. Told the security guard privately and he told me "i think our management has this under control" and told me to leave. RUDE RUDE RUDE PEOPLE DO NOT GO HERE

Worst service and the security guard is EXTREMELY RUDE to their LOYAL customers. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO JOHNNIES BEEF ever again. VERY RUDE PEOPLE, THEY THINK THERE TOO BIG TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT!

came there at 1148 the the security guard said they go by there time and not ours. Well let me tell you something you idiot, our money pays for your $10hr job!

Went to Johnnie's only because my brother raves about it. The beef is good, can't say it's "the best" I've had, but it's good. I had a combo, the Italian sausage IS REALLY GOOD, spicy, really tasty. The sandwiches though are small, really skimpy on beef, but then again the price is only $3.90. The hotdogs are average, with a nice BIG pickle spear, fries are good! No seating inside, only maybe four pic-nic tables outside. The pretty cool part was you walk in one door, place your order, pick-up at the other end of a long counter where you then walk out the door opposite the one you walked in from. Pretty neat set up!!!

The food here is excellent and the Italian ice is just what you need in the balmy Chicago summers. I'd give this place 5 stars but the parking is ridiculously limited and the lines can get really long. I guess that's the price you pay for delicious food.

I've been going to Johnnie's Beef on North Avenue for years and I must say, the sandwiches are not as good as they use to be! I have found grizzle the last three times I have ordered a sausage or combo sandwich. The beef sandwiches are still great but have been getting a little skimpy of late. Do we have too much business now to maintain the quality of the sandwiches?!

I have to travel quite a while to get to Johnnie's but when I have to have a great combo sandwich I go. They cut the sweet peppers up small and their beef has a unique flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I guess I'm going to have to drive up there tomorrow.
