Washington Elementary School is a learning center that provides educational services to more than 440 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s academic curriculum includes Spanish, reading, math, science and social science. It offers special education and speech and language therapy programs for students with special needs. The school provides bilingual and gifted and talented education programs. Washington Elementary School also offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. The school operates a parent-teacher organization that conducts fundraising activities. Located in Elgin, Ill., the school additionally provides student support services, including meals, medical care and transportation. Washington Elementary School is a part of Illinois School District U-46, which serves more than 40,000 students through over 50 elementary, middle and high schools.
