We just moved into our new home and noticed our property line wasn't marked. My lawyer at closing said that this company should have done so before I moved in. I called them and they told me they marked it and that the iron rods were placed at the corners but nothing was visible such as a flag or painted marker was seen. They told me that they were placed about 2-3 inches into the ground. I searched and found nothing. I called them back and talked to the secretary and eventually told her that I will contact my lawyer to see if she gave me wrong information. I called Schlaf-Sedig on a Friday and left a message to set up an appointment for them to come out and they never called back. I then followed with another called on a Monday and told them there was a miss communication with my lawyer and that I would need them to come out and mark them. Vincent B. Frye and an associate came out just a few hours after the call. As I was landscaping with my 2 year old son, The first thing Vincent said was "Don't talk to me!" As I tried explaining the miss communication, He became very unprofessional and extremely rude while talking with aggression. As my kid stood there and watched this, I became the bigger person and tried not to escalate anything further. He became upset that I mentioned my lawyer on the phone and took it as offense to him and his secretary. Again, I mentioned to him that it was never a threat of any kind, I was just trying to get information from her since it was supposed to be done and I saw nothing marked. He also mentioned to me as he was leaving "have your checkbook ready if any other work needed to be done." I mentioned to him this was paid for in my closing costs. I also mentioned that I would have paid him if this was indeed the second time he came out but he abruptly left mumbling things under his breath.

I noticed after Vincent B. Frye and his associate left, there were new rods placed in the ground showing about an inch above ground with a flag in it. One of the markers were found in front of my property about 15 inches deep (this also was the only original placed during the building of the house according to the plat of survey others were never placed). My question is that if they put the markers in as they said, then why couldn't they locate them. Now according to the Plat of Survey Vincent B. Frye's license expires on 11-30-2014. As I searched him in the Illinois Division Of Professional Regulation under "Land Surveyor And Training" found that his license expired in 01-21-2004. See Below:
