A friend asked me to become her sponsor in order to obtain her green card so this company requested all my personal information such as W-2s, tax returns and copies of my SS card and citizenship certificate. They also provided her with a single page of the form I-864 for me to sign. Technically I did not feel comfortable singing a blank paper so I requested a filled up form and they refused to provide it to my friend so I had to request it myself. Once I arrived and reviewed my own information, I asked them to sign as the preparers in order for me to sign it and they said they won’t sign because they are not responsible for the filling up of the form.

I consider this procedure very unprofessional and fishy because the form requires the info of the interpreters and the preparers. My friend paid over $1,000 dlls to have this form filled up and by doing some research I am finding out that notary publics may not charge a fee larger than $10 dlls for preparation of immigration documents.
