Worst experience of my life. Everyone that I worked with were as rude as it gets. Started out being a 6 month time period they gave me for when the house would be done. Said it never takes that long but they tell you 6 months to be on the safe side. 4 months went by and they hadn't even started. Then they had the hole dug and went another month not touched. This went on and on. I think we ended up closing after about 10 months on a house other companies can build in 2-3 months. Then I find out I have a very oddly shaped lot and that one neighbor has a shed on the land and another neighbor has a fence on the land. They told me that it had to be moved in order to finish the lawn. Although to find out they never even mentioned it to the ppl that owned the fence. So Once they FINALLY finished the house then we have to wait for the fence to be moved and yard to be complete so we can close. They took so long to finish the house I eneded up getting a higher rate bc rates went up. They didn't do anything to try and make me feel better about the situation not even an apology. We have been living in the house a couple months now and already have had a water leak, concrete cracking, heat pump not working, noticed a broken cabinet door, a huge bulge in a wall, paint on windows that wasn't cleaned, missed paint everywhere, etc. And to top it off now we are experiencing more property issues. On the other side of the lot their was a tree line, we were told we owned along that tree line. As first time home buyers we took his word, it made sense that we owned along the tree line. Well now the tree line is gone and a new road is being put in by arlinghaus and a couple of the new lots come down the hill and up to 50-60 ft into what I was told was my yard. I should have had it surveyed yes, but again being a first time home buyer I took their word. Now they aren't willing to fix the issues or even sell me the part that was told was mine to begin with. At first I thought maybe I am just having a horrible experience. But after talking to other ppl in the neighborhood they aren't happy either. Other issues they've had some the same. I would not recommend arlinghaus to anyone if they were the last builders on earth I would build the house myself.
