Provided by SuperpagesI was at pioneer farm museum on Saturday June 21 of this year. I have a service dog and her papers. I was met outside by a woman who told me that I could not have the dog. she said that she had to see the papers and why. I showed them to her and paid for the tour with my daughter and grand children. I also purchased a book and things for the grandchildren. we started the tour and the gentleman was very kind with the outside tour of the barn smelter and wood working shop. I was even allowed to milk the cow. then the second part of the tour started and another woman would not allow me in the buildings. I again explain this is a service dog and I would be holding her but she said no. the more I tried to explain the more I wanted to cry so I sat out in the shade. only to hear her tell the others that their cat had gotten in and done damage to one of the buildings the night before. I think this should be remedied. I am a vet and need my dog in closed in crowded places. thank you

Provided by YP.comThe farm/museum is a small compact collection of period buildings, set in a wooded glen. The basic mission is for the education of children, which is laudable, however it is a time capsule for anyone interested in the day to day workings of the family farm of the last qtr of the 19th century. The hands on activities are well planned, and the staff attentive and knowledgeable of the period, and to the needs of the visitor. As a working living history center it has all the trapping of the 1800's, buildings, gardens, animals, blacksmiths hop, woodworking shop, residences, and barn. For the living history buff it is a must see, and to teachers and museum curators, it gives a glimpse of what is possible to help teach the 19th century material culture.
