My car was running hot so I went online and chose Auto City Auto Repairs on Gratiot in Eastpointe where I live. They had a $25.00 diagnosis to be applied to the repair bill. They told me I needed a head gasket repair at almost $1000.00. I didn't like the way Auto City was evasive when I asked them questions regarding their diagnosis. I took my car to East Pointe Auto center on 9 mile across from the police station. They gave me a much different diagnosis. NOT a head gasket problem as the dye (block) test and pressure test they performed (in front of me-very easy, very quick) came up negative. The same test's Auto City told me they had performed and stated were positive! Hugh the owner and his top mechanic Ray fixed the car for $250.00. I needed a pressure back flush, new coolant, and I had a stuck thermostat (2.5 hours labor to install-thank you very much GM!). They also advised me to replace the radiator cap with a pressurized one ($4.99 at pep Boy's). I'm glad I got a second opinion. In the future I'LL BE BACK. P.S. I checked the reviews for Auto City which were all great-but seemed contrived and repetitive (#1 choice for car service! touted several of the reviews in unison), and phony if you ask me.
